Spay and Neuter

Having pets spayed/neutered is an important part of keeping them healthy and happy! It adds years to their life, and makes them part of the solution to pet homelessness.

The Outer Banks SPCA is glad to help you help your best friend!  We offer different spay/neuter assistance services to our community including POPCORN and a vet voucher service.

Rabies Clinics

In North Carolina, dogs, cats, and ferrets are required by law to maintain current rabies vaccination by 4 months of age.

The Outer Banks SPCA offers several low-cost vaccination clinics throughout the year. We offer these clinics onsite at the shelter and at different off-site locations, to help you keep your pets current!

Rabies Vaccines are just $5.00 during Rabies Clinics.  Clinics are advertised here on our website as well as other local media outlets.

All pets brought to Rabies Clinics must be leashed or in a carrier.

Dog Licenses

Proper identification helps your pets get home safely!

in an effort to track rabies vaccinations, Dare County requires that dogs wear Dare County Dog Licenses at all times. We renew this license annually to coincide with current vaccinations.

To get a license for your dog, simply bring proof of current Rabies vaccination to the shelter or to one of the Dare County satellite locations.

For Spayed/Neutered pets, Licenses are $10.

For intact pets (not spayed/neutered), licenses are $25.
